Critics Consensus

It's lifted by affable performances from its impeccable cast, and it's often charming -- but Morning Glory is also inconsistent and derivative.

C-

Morning Glory is a lackluster knockoff to Devil Wears Prada, minus the heart, cleverness and fashion. It's just not a good time, as it claims to be.

Morning Glory may not be quite glorious and is unashamedly fluff but it is quality fluff and anything that leaves you with as big a smile on your face as this film can’t be bad.

With a great cast (and Harrison Ford having his most fun in years) Morning Glory may be a conventional, sugar-coated Hollywood rom-com, but it’s never less than thoroughly enjoyable.

But as Morning Glory quickly proves, maybe there's nothing wrong with a bit of good, old-fashioned fluff in your cinematic diet. Especially if the fluff in question is as well-handled, entertaining and flat-out joyful as it is here.

Very funny and charming. Hard for me to understand why people didn’t get into it. Holds up well on repeated viewing.

Great cast. Dianne Keaton and Rachel Mcadams were especially great. Harrison Ford was really good too. The whole cast really carried this story beyond its potential. There were a lot of good vibes and funny moments. It's a perfect movie to put on when you are feeling a bit down and need a pick me up.

Rachel McAdams got me in, the movie did just enough to keep me there.

Rachel McAdams is a comedy genius. She is so sweet and lovable in Morning Glory. Director Roger Michell’s romantic comedy-drama Morning Glory (2010) is very funny and ridiculous. Rachel McAdams brings such effortless charm, humor, and a bubbly personality. Producer J.J. Abrams helped get this one made. It's very fun. Writer Aline Brosh McKenna demonstrates how crazy busy the morning news shows are and how difficult news anchors can be towards their hard working producers. It does make me think of The Devil Wears Prada that McKenna also wrote too. She writes about not being able to stop working to maintain a healthy work and life balance. Rachel McAdams is gorgeous, hilarious, sweet, sexy, natural, and charming as Becky Fuller. Her busy executive producer for the morning news show DayBreak is very sympathetic. Her endless quest to do well at work and make a career she can be proud of is touching and relatable. She has real moxie.
