Felipe P @FelipeDK 3 days ago The movie is great and makes references to the first two films; it was an excellent production. It's a shame the original actress who played Rachel wasn't in it, but she was pregnant at the time, so it's acceptable. I highly recommend it! "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" (2008) isn't as bad as its ratings suggest, I liked it actually quite a lot for a very simple thing - it is big, dumb, loud yet entertaining. This film for me is actually a little bit better then "Mummy Returns" - this one has less of over the top CGI stuff and there are some pretty good practical stuff on display. It's also a bit more less overstuffed film - which is always nice. Overall, 3rd film in the series was a fun entertainment. Rewatching it in 2026 on 4K UHD made me appreciate it way more than originally in 2008. It looks amazing, prently of action and it is less overstuffed then previous film. The replacing of Evelyn in this with a different actress is obvious and it just doesn’t feel right in any way. The mummy this time around, played by Jet li, is just the avatar controlling the elements. This movie is stain on what was a great set of movies before it. It isn’t nearly in their class however. Several story beats are questionable as to why someone would think we’d want to see this in a movie called "the mummy". Time is precious, just rewatch the original 2 movies and let this one find its way out of the memories of all. See more James E. @JamesE167 Jun 26, 2026 The Yetis are the only reason to watch this. And of course, Brendan Frazier See more Nikki M @RT00865325 Jun 21, 2026 Why they didn’t wait until Rachel Weiss was available to do this film I am at a loss to understand. The story itself is fine but Rachel Weiss is Evy and she alone embodies this strong, enigmatic librarian heroine. I can’t watch this movie without feeling betrayed that Evy became a parody of herself, so sad. See more Read all reviews
