Debbie F @RT96535840 Sep 13, 2026 Since I did not read the novel I had no preconceptions. This would be classified as a tragic love story (by Katherine Center). I felt that Sofia Carson (Anna) was spectacular as a strong. intelligent, beautiful and sensual young woman and was a delight to watch. Cory Mylchrest (Jamie) was superb as well. Being transported to Oxford and exploring the behind the scenes library was truly special. I did have some difficulties understanding the poetry read or spoken by characters other than the leads, but I plan on watching it again to capture the essence of the deeper poetic meanings. I now can read the novel because it would be impossible for me to imagine the wonderful buildings and settings without seeing the movie first. S @RT67203332 Aug 11, 2026 I really liked this movie, no matter that the critics say otherwise it was amazing to see the plot unfold See more Jon W @RT14992919 Aug 6, 2026 Disaster of a film. A visually glossy, utterly soul-sucking vanity project that feels less like a movie and more like a lavish tax write-off. Unattractive, trashy, and completely devoid of charm, it gives you zero reason to care about either of the main characters or their relationship. The narrative pacing is a complete joke, featuring a central conflict driven by total nonsense that lasts for a grand total of three minutes before being lazily hand-waved into a resolution. On top of that, the film relies on gratuitous sex scenes; by the third time around, it tries to pretend it's some profound, emotionally pivotal moment as if we haven't already watched the exact same thing twice before. To cap off the absurdity, the cast and crew were apparently flown to multiple stunning destinations across Europe just to shoot pointless 10-second scenes. Save your time and skip this aimless, annoying train wreck entirely. See more Debi B @psiri Jul 28, 2026 I don’t care what the critics say. I loved this movie 🍿 See more Read all reviews
