Kyle M @RT77296778 Sep 29, 2026 What is war is rather a complex question than one could simply answer. This film retains forgotten humanity in the channeling midst of violent hostility amid thought-provoking themes through occasional dark humor lightening the fragile tension. Though the mental resort at the end shows aligned contradictory and inability to detour the antagonistic outlook’s driven convolution after all that was understood and tactfully cautioned, the performative executions of the dialogue driven circumstance is indirectly anti-war once realized the length of drilled concealment they surprisingly embodied. See more Alec B @Alec97 Apr 14, 2026 The initial set-up made me nervous. Fortunately the movie doesn't stop with a simplistic "Hey man, we're all ultimately just the same flesh and blood underneath" because it is near impossible to let go of everything else, especially in a violent conflict. The second half, which is more focused on the total failure of the United Nations to do anything and the media to even tell the story properly, really is where the themes and the tragedy come into focus. A descendant of MASH, this film is skillfully depicted portrayal of the absurdity of war. Emotional, darkly funny, and authentic. See more dave s @RT68722908 Jun 6, 2022 Set during the conflict between the Serbs and the Bosnians, three soldiers, one Serb and two Bosnians, find themselves trapped and fighting for survival between enemy lines in an abandoned trench. When an impotent branch of the UN arrives on the scene with the self-serving media in tow, things become significantly more complicated. No Man's Land is a powerful film, a condemnation of the conflict itself, with undercurrents of how self-centered greed and bureaucracy will almost certainly worsen matters. Beautifully shot and acted, it is filled with moral dilemmas and unexpected turns and finishes with one of the most memorable shots imaginable, emphasizing the futility of everything that preceded it. It pits both sides in a neutral zone to show the silliness of the conflict and the involvement of the UN's hypocrisy. It was entertaining and well made. It was on Tubi. See more Read all reviews
