Gregg Y Oct 18, 2025 Informative and visually captivating See more RG Oct 13, 2025 Very intense and very thoughtful. Agreed with much of it, but its so overtly one-sided that detracts a bit from its credibility. Lots of horrors that humans inflict upon one another shown, but no reference to 9/11 or the October 7, 2023 assault by Hamas. See more Brad F @RT70461643 3 days ago This is sinful to compare Trump the greatest president we’ve ever had. Writers left wingers should be banned. Just cancelled Hulu I’ve had for years paying over 100 a month until they aired this. What if someone wrote about Obamas crimes. Also how can you be the first black negro president when one parent is white. All lies for all the money he is continuing to profit off tax payers. He picks what color to be to get the most money. Crooked animals See more Martin A @RT87370827 Sep 7, 2026 The irony of this film beggars belief. Orwell started life as a supporter of socialism, but soon came to believe that all forms of popular left/right politics would lead to totalitarianism. What Raoul Peck does here is cherry pick history - ignoring all left-wing atrocities, herd mentality, propaganda and examples of totalitarianism - to shove his own far-left views down people throats. If he had understood what Orwell actually believed, he'd have shown a evidence of politics, in all its current forms, leading to totalitarianism, but he was too obsessed with his own hatred to understand he propagated the message that war is peace. An extraordinarily unaware documentary. See more Chris R @christr77 Aug 30, 2026 As a huge fan of Orwell and his writing, including 1984 and Animal Farm, I can say without any doubt that this is one of the worst interpretations of his work I've seen. The film is all over the place, and it feels less like the work of a serious, unbiased filmmaker than an indulgent piece made by a sycophant. Essentially, the entire film tries to paint every bad thing happening in the world today as "Orwellian," and it makes a big stretch casting Donald Trump and the more than half the country who voted for him as Orwell's masses. That framing alone exposes the bias of this sorry excuse for a film. The same argument could just as easily be made about the left. The scripted, staged speeches from a visibly diminished Biden, Harris being handed the nomination with no primary votes, and plenty more. The modern left pushes plenty of things that are simply ridiculous, like redefining what a woman or a man is, which is itself the exact kind of "2+2=5" nonsense Orwell warned about. See more Kyle M @RT77296778 Aug 19, 2026 A documentary isn’t meant to just profile a well-known author but mainly examining his prophetic outlook, analyzing how today’s political incidents parallels to his speculative literature that put general power to question. It progressively grips your attention with disturbances toward repetitive history, which narrows down to corporate and political leaderships that are fueled by self-interest rather than the people being looked after, arguably devolving mankind when mismanagement happens over loss of meaning or plain idiocracy as demonstrated. While it could’ve gone deeper in the sensed psychoanalysis that needed to dissect the actions, but the constrained framework between Orwell’s notes and comprehensible research boost this timely thought-provoking, neutral documentary as an essential watch per urgency and positional hope to be part of the visual algorithm in seeking to prevent and re-examine the global direction.
