Jennifer doesn’t get the luxury of simply being forgiven, and the people hurt by her choices don’t get the luxury of simply moving on. The movie understands that consequences have long memories. That’s where Kraig Wenman’s heartfelt writing really gives the story its pulse. Beneath the thriller machinery is a surprisingly tender belief in human beings—that people can screw up spectacularly, hurt each other deeply, and still find a road toward forgiveness.
