A randomness defines things in the film; so one minute the dialogues rhyme irreverently and are filled with innuendoes and the next minute lapse into the inane.

I enjoyed the lovers, and their ram-leela: if only the film had been more ras, not goli-leela, more roses than guns.

The most effective sequences the two stars have together are the large-scale dance numbers, which are beautifully and imaginatively staged.

Some thoroughly original imagery, outstanding music and one of the best lead pair casting decisions in recent popular Hindi cinema made the film a staggeringly daring rendition of the most famous love story in pop-culture...

There’s nothing conventional about it. It’s based on Romeo and Juliet, but Bhansali has contemporised and Indianised it so much that it feels like Shakespeare’s play is just the foundation on which has been built this extravagant film.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela is an illogical love tale dressed up in opulence. A classic case of looks can be deceptive.

Cinematography, direction, acting, bgm, music, colour grading all of it was A1 . This film is 10/10 this movie is not for those who don't know SLB's style and thought and for those who don't like masculinity, violence, feminism, vulgarity, faul slang, that kind of audience should stay away and should get triggered.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram-Leela is a lavish, operatic retelling of Romeo and Juliet, drenched in color, passion, and gunpowder. Set against the backdrop of two warring clans in rural Gujarat, the film blends Shakespeare's tragedy with Bhansali’s trademark visual extravagance. Ranveer Singh is ferocious and magnetic as Ram, but it is Deepika Padukone’s Leela who gives the film its emotional backbone. Fierce, vulnerable, and unapologetically bold, Deepika delivers one of her most commanding performances, elevating Leela beyond a conventional romantic heroine into a woman driven by desire, defiance, and destiny. Bhansali’s music and choreography amplify the emotional highs, turning romance and rage into grand spectacle. Ram-Leela is an audacious, visually arresting love story powered by star-making performances—especially Deepika Padukone’s fearless Leela. Though occasionally overindulgent, it remains a bold, passionate cinematic experience that thrives on drama, beauty, and heartbreak.

This movie is amazing!!!!!! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The special effects were breathtaking, but the acting left something to be desired.

A terrible version of Romeo-Juliet story. The only saving grace in this movie are songs, that are beautifully choreographed.
