Critics Consensus

Secret Society of Second-Born Royals holds up just well enough to suffice as a streaming diversion -- which may be all its target demographic is looking for.

"Secret Society of Second-Born Royals" is such a sad baby chimera of second-wave digital content that the mere act of reviewing it feels unnecessarily hostile.

Second Born Royals feels like a PG version of Kingsman: The Secret Service with humor and an aesthetic akin to Disney Channel features.

It's slick and generally solid comic-book-style fun, with uniforms and everything, as these youths discover their powers and Astin provides welcome humor as the group's able if exasperated mentor.

Undiscerning kids may forgive the film its many foibles, but that's probably not be enough to warrant further episodes.

The film's premise is basically a haphazard combo of The Princess Diaries and X-Men with half the charm and an eighth of the budget...

It was okay... Though it was done better with "Sky High" from 2005.

Loved this movie. It sucks that it wasn’t promoted when it came out but it was good. I would say I wish the production was more considerate of the characters dressing more modest for the sake of children being the core audience of Disney. But everything else about the movie was good. Especially the lessons taught.

Secret Society of Second Born Royals is quite an underwhelming attempt to do a teen-superhero flick that really lacked anything exciting in terms of its plot and direction in addition to the characters that didn't really seem to have any chance to shine.

Yep this is a bad attempt to make a SuperHero movie. There was no fun in this movie, everyone was so moody and bitchy. I think the actors needed a paycheck.
