The only real conflict arises from Corinne's annoyance that her friend won't stand up for herself. The two work in the same music industry talent agency, where the boss is played Bette Midler in the truest "What is she doing here?" fashion.

It's exceedingly difficult to tell a story that is, at once, a coming-of-age yarn and an end-of-life tale. SIBWC pulls off that nifty feat with plenty of bitter-sweet heart and feel-good charm to spare. A delightfully curious confection; like a chocolate-chili or carrot-cardamom cake that shouldn't work, but somehow does.

I haven’t cried to a movie since I was like 8 years old, but when I tell you I SOBBED to this movie, I truly did. Something about it really struck a chord with me. The portrayal of the different relationships in this film and how the two main characters were able to grow from them was absolutely beautiful. I thought the acting was raw, and the cinematography was great. Overall, it was an amazing movie that I was not expecting to love as much as I did.

The story, although it is not entirely new, has something that makes it attractive even though its first 30 minutes lack rhythm. The second hour is the one that attracts the most attention and has the greatest emotional charge. Its biggest attraction is the cake parade, of course.
