What to Know

Critics Consensus

Spice World's lack of cohesive plot will likely lose most viewers, but for fans of the titular girl group there's more than enough fun to be had in their wacky -- albeit superficial -- whirlwind of an adventure.

Can the Spice Girls act beyond their assigned personas? World doesn't stop spinning long enough to answer. Go to Full Review Paul Tatara CNN.com Jun 21, 2016
"What's the plot?" you may be asking. Well so am I. Go to Full Review Lisa Alspector Chicago Reader Jun 21, 2016
A promotional tool that establishes its superfluousness simply by existing, this clumsy, smirking movie has a bitter soul. Go to Full Review Wesley Lovell Cinema Sight Jan 7, 2023

The girls themselves sometimes have a chemistry, but are normally annoying paper-thin characters, but still quite fun. Go to Full Review Joe Lipsett Hazel & Katniss & Harry & Starr Podcast Dec 22, 2022

The film would do well to trust the girls, who have great fun playing caricatures, rather than padding the film with a series of unconnected cameos. The result is a madcap, but often overwhelming comedy. Go to Full Review Chase Burns The Stranger (Seattle, WA) Feb 1, 2022

Robert P @Superbad Sep 28, 2026 This movie is aa *2* star Movie! See more Whitney B @wbrodt89 Jul 16, 2026 Endlessly funny, completely silly, totally light-hearted. This movie is pure nostalgic bliss. It is a time capsule of pure 90s enjoyment! See more thiago S @Thiagostone Jun 20, 2026 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Wayne M @RT93097251 Apr 19, 2026 Love it pure British camp , the girls take the mick out of harm selves and play up to just a funny light hearted movie. It wasn’t gonna win an Oscar but were they even trying too See more Caitlin T. @rainbowcito Mar 19, 2026 Was a massive Spice Girls fan back in the day, so I recently rewatched for a but of nostalgia - painfully cringeworthy every step of the way! One star should suffice for the singalong bits See more Jaime R @RT91039141 Aug 18, 2025 Honestly Spice World at this point is a nostalgia trip for the fans. This movie is a silly little fever dream, but it's very fun! The girls play up their personas, there is plenty of their old music in it. To me it definitely taps British Comedy but more so television than film just because of the variety. Either way it's a fun watch, if you're looking for something super cohesive skip it, if you're a fan looking for a giggle and to sing some of your favorite Spice Girl hits from the 90s watch it and don't forget the credits!
