Lei P @LeiLyu 13h The Devil All The Time is a dark Thriller about generational trauma and passed down violence. The storyline splits into various perspectives and stories, closing with Arvin's POV and making him a connecting piece throughout the film. Up to the last third of the film I wasn't really convinced and I only continued watching to finish it somehow. The ending however was quite good, picking up a better pacing again. The beginning of the film had been slow-paced but watchable. I feel like this film would've attracted far less viewers if it hadn't been for the strong cast of famous actors. Their performances (especially Tom Holland's) were really convincing, but I see a bit of wasted potential in the storytelling itself. It was good, but could've been better. I wouldn't watch it again, but I don't dislike it either. If you decide to watch it you should be prepared for gore, explicit images and a rather depressing atmosphere. It rings so true to life (sadly) and has some really important things to say about PTSD, human psychology, grief, violence, poverty, religion and a lot more. Each actor fully embodied his or her role and gave complex, fascinating performances. See more Lexi R @caitlynswife34 Mar 8 this is honestly one of the best movies I have seen in years. the plot is hard to follow at the start but half an hour in, its easy to understand. the acting is literally incredible and makes the show feel so much more real and raw. the characters are so well written and the cast just makes it all come to life. the plot is amazing, understandable and filled with so much suspense throughout the whole thing and more people should watch it.
