The familiar conflict between ambition, relationships and authenticity is easy to anticipate, but the execution is so polished that predictability rarely becomes a serious problem. Meryl Streep is extraordinary, turning Miranda Priestly into something far more interesting than a tyrannical-boss caricature through restraint rather than excess. Anne Hathaway carries the transformation well, while Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci add personality and texture. The film's moral about professional success has aged less cleanly than its style, but its rhythm, humour and fascination with the world it criticizes still work remarkably well. It was very well done very elegant very stylish and great performances by Emily Blunt Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway just to mention a few of the cast. I love the premise of the movie and the story and the ending of this film very well done. The props scenery costumes all excellent to help make this film come alive. I am surprised I have not seen this one since it was from 2006 but I am glad I watched it and I will be watching the 2026 sequel. I highly recommend this film to everybody that loves fashion and magazines and all the pomp and circumstance. The protagonist acts mean and carefree, in my opinion. While her boyfriend has always been right, from the beginning. Also, the people in fashion industry are depicted as cold and ruthless and I wonder how much truth there is in that. See more Robert P @Superbad Sep 6, 2026 This was an excellent movie!
