The Endless benefits from its grounded approach to an increasingly bizarre story, elevated by believable performances by filmmakers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.

Unfortunately the filmmakers introduce a sci-fi element in the second half that deflates much of the interpersonal tension and shifts the focus from the subtleties of mind control to the vagaries of time and space. Go to Full Review

The biggest lesson of The Endless is how we can allow our lives to loop around in one crappy cycle until we cop out. Go to Full Review

Despite an imaginative concept, the narrative feels surprisingly bland, even when the pieces begin to fall into place - and when there's no quick punchline to fall back on, the film suffers. Go to Full Review

In trademark Benson-Moorhead fashion, the film is a genre-fluid experience that boldly chooses not to be bound by horror restrictions, instead allowing its viewers to relate to the emotion that hits home the hardest. Go to Full Review

This independent film is a unique balance between Lovecraftian world building, the intimacies of family dynamics, and the horrors of the personal limitations. Go to Full Review

Big D @Drazker 2d After watching, i have a strong feeling the show "From" took a lot of inspiration from this film. Cosmic thriller littered with dread, anticipation and strong messages of hope. The bond between brothers shows not even a god-like entity has control over a united family. This movie caused an avalanche of symbolism and I'm not even sure they meant to. Considering the films budget (300k) and lack of a named brand director, but executed extremely well I comfortably give it a 4.5/5. See more Hector B @lovecraft_cat Jan 16 Understand I created a Rotten Tomatoes account to write this review. I frankly am upset by what must be clearly inorganic reviews that pushed this movie onto the popular sci fi list. Estimating conservatively, I have watched over 2000 movies. This movie is easily in the bottom 20. It comprises a bad plot, bad script, poor acting, poor camera work, uninspired editing, and abysmal sound work. It begins remarkably interesting but with the bizarre premise of apostates returning to a cult ground (?). I don't mind plot holes, but none of these scenes connect or are logically resolved whatsoever. I understand cult members are strange, but no human would make decisions as irrational as featured in this movie. The interactions are stiff at best. The directors (main two protagonists) desperately need some writing and acting classes. No, this movie does not serve as a strong example of a victim struggling to escape a cycle of abuse. I was holding on for a resolution or reason but there is none. See more Casey B @Cmurda Jan 11 Interesting concept but one of the worst movies ever made. From literally the first minute of the movie they start pushing just bullshit. In the first minute one of the main characters gets a text that says "get a new car battery" within 2-3 minutes later he gets another text asking if he did it. Apparently the character has a habit of leaving the inner car lights on which not a single person on the planet does... low and behold it ends up killing the battery for their escape. Absolute shit. Do better. See more Amber D. @Amber.Rochelle86 Jan 11 Chat GPT recommended it. I’ve been struggling leaving my second abusive relationship and had asked for a gripping story to distract me. I wasn’t in the mood for a drama, romance, action, or comedy. I requested something smart. And oh boy, was it. It almost validated leaving the cycle I’ve found myself in and gave permission to escape the struggle. The correlations were beautiful. Highly, HIGHLY recommend this one when you want to think. See more Ally N @aj1019x Dec 27 it was SO good. the themes of brotherhood, the unknown, trauma. the way you’re left with questions at the end, and want to dive deeper into the universe these men have created for us on-screen. some scenes reminded me of "Midsommar", how even in broad daylight they can still have you on the edge of your seat. Would definitely re-watch. See more Al W @Coachal Dec 25 Complete waste of your time. Rotten tomato professional reviewers must need to acknowledge their unique talents by digging down into crap that is insipid and boring and invent some remarkable significance. Stay away from this putrid flick. See more Read all reviews
