Moody C @MoodyC Sep 21, 2026 This is the best of series (so far) however all the movies suffer from a weak climatic ending & only this one has a somewhat better climatic fight at, of all places, a home depot like store. It's no Home Alone with clever traps but it is still more entertaining than final battles of 2 & 3 sequels. Character is somewhat like John Wick character who is virtually an unbeatable, killing machine but these movies are better because they always rescue some lost characters & try to help them find their ways in life so not just mindless shooting like John Wick movies. Maccall is always a model citizen ala Superman but unlike Supes, is not afraid to kill in brutal ways for those who deserve it which is more realistic & satisfying than those Superman or Batman movies. I love this; it mixes slow-burn character building with satisfying justice. What Worked: • Denzel brings a quiet, intense calm that honestly makes him magnetic. • The diner scenes with Moretz have surprisingly genuine emotional weight. • The final hardware store showdown using random tools is ridiculously fun. The Friction: • The Russian mob villains feel one-dimensional and cartoonishly evil. • The runtime gets bloated, and the middle part really dragged for me. • It gets a bit too invincible-superhero at the end, losing some gritty realism. Verdict: I love this. Watch for a satisfying, slow-burn thriller. Skip if invincible heroes annoy you. The story never gets boring and I will continue to watch the three of them over and over as I really enjoy each of them. Things move along quickly which I appreciate. I really enjoyed it. See more Christian B @trippoint Jul 9, 2026 Super fun movie. Man on fire vibes for sure. The scene in the office above the restaurant with him against the 5 Russian mafia guys is iconic! Denzel at his best! See more Read all reviews
