While awaiting the next fuel truck at a middle-of-nowhere Arizona rest stop, a traveling young knife salesman is thrust into a high-stakes hostage situation by the arrival of two similarly stranded bank robbers with no qualms about using cruelty--or cold, hard steel--to protect their bloodstained, ill-begotten fortune.

Critics Consensus

A smart, tautly constructed crime thriller with some fresh twists, The Last Stop in Yuma County marks writer-director Francis Galluppi as a talent to watch.

In addition to obtaining outstanding performances from all his actors, the director demonstrates that he has extensive knowledge of the cinematographic language, and uses it to immerse us in its simple but ingenious story. [Full review in Spanish]

A quirky, indie Neo-noir Western with a dash of Coen Brothers and a sprinkle of Tarantino. Darkly funny, well acted, and cleverly written.

"Last Stop in Yuma County" is the kind of movie where you root for the worst to happen, because every escalation of misfortune makes things more entertaining.

This film is at minimum an extremely fun ensemble piece that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat, but also gives the audience the chance to look in the mirror and ask what they might do in a situation such as this.

I don’t often describe something as a good yarn, but “The Last Stop in Yuma County” is one.

Started off really strong and immediately caught my attention. The acting was good, and the setup had a lot of potential, but after a while it became too much of a slow burn for me. I kept waiting for the story to really take off, and when it finally did, the ending just didn’t deliver the payoff I was hoping for. It wasn’t a bad movie, but it definitely could have ended much, much better.
