The Nile Hilton Incident caught me off guard in the best way. It’s a gritty, slow-burn crime thriller that feels grounded and uncomfortably real, with an atmosphere that sticks with you long after it ends. I loved how the film balances a classic noir-style investigation with a sharp political edge, showing how corruption seeps into every layer of society. Fares Fares delivers a quietly powerful performance as a worn-down cop who’s just trying to do the right thing in a system that keeps pushing back. The pacing is deliberate, but I found it effective—it lets the tension build naturally and makes each discovery feel heavier. Overall, it’s a smart, moody film that doesn’t spoon-feed answers and leaves you thinking about justice, power, and compromise. Definitely worth watching if you’re into serious, character-driven thrillers.

This is quite a tense and claustrophobic watch. Its the sort of film which makes you wonder what people motivations may be, or have been and it keeps you guessing. Its understandably rather grim and gritty and is a worthwhile watch overall.
