See more Blake- N @PBSAniDom Jun 8 The People's Joker is easily one of the most creative and entertaining parody films I have ever seen. Instead of relying on cheap jokes or endless pop-culture references, it builds its own identity while playfully drawing inspiration from one of Batman's most famous rivals. The result is something unique, bold, and unforgettable. What impressed me most was its originality. While parody movies like Scary Movie, Epic Movie, Disaster Movie, and Superhero Movie often feel repetitive and overloaded with random gags, The People's Joker tells its story with purpose and imagination. The humor feels fresh rather than forced. The film also stands out because of its creativity and confidence. It takes risks that many parody films never attempt, making the experience feel exciting from beginning to end. Overall, this is my favorite parody of a Batman-related character and one of the best modern parody films ever made. It's a 10/10 for me. See more Éléonore T @RT94211081 Jan 22 It absolutely shouldn't work. An auto-fictional trans indie punk retelling of the joker heavily influenced by alternative cinema and animation? Sounds like a very slow and painful nightmare. And yet, it does work. The pacing is amazing, the collage of aesthetics and psychedelic influences doesn't feel gratuitous. It all actually comes together. Even the fact of telling a deeply personal story through "parody"/homage to the franchise feels meaningful and a gust of fresh air in a time when their toxic masculinity, aestheticized grime, and overall commercialism has devoured itself into artistic nonexistence. A better movie than many in the actual franchise. See more Brandon S @Brandoom Jan 11 I heard it was worth checking out regardless of the subject matter, low budget and DC parody, but this was a bit of a slog to get through. I mean if this was just a student film, I'd be more forgiving but it clearly had industry involvement but still seemed clunky.
