A bland, fluffy, and predictable bit of wish fulfillment.

Strangely both exactly of its time, yet also miles ahead of it.

This attempt at a modern-day Cinderella story is about as PC as a Career Girl Barbie and disappoints due to poor structure, flimsy characterisation and insufficient wit to distract from the above.

...generally remains a cut above the majority of its contemporary romcom brethren - with the dreaded fake break-up handled particularly well (the second fake break-up is kind of pushing it, though).

The romantic fantasy of a commoner falling for a crown prince received an engaging, early 2000s update in Martha Coolidge’s 2004 feature, The Prince & Me, a quintessential entry in the royal genre.

It’s all completely fine and is by no means awful but is definitely more of a chill, comforting watch that requires no thought. Acting is okay, the plot is predictable and all of it is very cliché. Though by all means is perfect for a mindless watch.
