ARTHUR MOREL (Paul McGann) has dedicated his life to ushering in the deceased from the world of the living to the world of the dead, so when local gangster FINLAY UNSWORTH (Roger Barclay) makes Arthur an offer he can't refuse, Arthur believes he can handle the extra workload. With retirement on the horizon, Arthur looks the other way and takes the money but as Finlay's killing spree spirals out of control, Arthur realizes he's out of his depth. In fact, he's drowning. Realizing he knows too much and will be the next one in a body bag, Arthur's only option is to turn 'amateur vigilante' and attempt to end the brutal reign of terror. As Arthur is forced to face his own demons and confront Finlay, he knows that the funerals are not over and that he may well soon be heading to his own....

Wright and his team deliberately turn down the colour saturation and favour brown and grey tones in the production and costume design, so that everything looks like it was developed in weak tea. Go to Full Review Steve Morrissey Radio Times Mar 31, 2026

Leon H @RT13589101 Aug 11, 2026 It looked cheap (almost all the external shots are badly made miniatures), badly paced, averagely acted (apart from McCann who's good enough to make this just about bearable to watch) and thinly plotted. It feels like a not great stage play turned into a poorly made movie. I also didn't like the colouration of the film. I assumed the idea of making everyone look pale and washed out was to make the actors resemble corpses. I cannot recommend this film. See more Les N @Vegas628 Jan 25, 2025 Excellent. Why don't yanks like non-yank movies? I guess it the subtitles? See more Read all reviews
