The veteran detectives renowned for always getting their man are back in action! Detective Seo Do-cheol (HWANG Jung-min) and his Major Crime Investigation Division tirelessly track down criminals day and night, often at the expense of their personal lives. When the murder of a professor reveals links to past cases, suspicions of a serial killer arise, plunging the country into turmoil. As Major Crimes delves into the investigation, the killer taunts them by publicly releasing a teaser online, indicating the next victim, and intensifying the chaos. To tackle the escalating threat, the team brings in idealistic rookie officer Park Sun-woo (JUNG Hae-in), leading to unexpected twists in the case's trajectory.

Scales back on its predecessor’s laughs in order to focus more closely on — as well as to examine — the violence of its police protagonists.

A film that’s wildly entertaining but also has a great deal on its mind about how far we should be willing to go to balance the scales.

On the whole, this instalment is a confident step up from the original. I, The Executioner may have more on its mind, but not to the detriment of the bone-crushing escapism that defined the first chapter.

Although not as good as the origina, I, the Executioner has still a lot to offer, both in terms of entertainment and context. Yoo Ah-in is a loss but Hwang Jung-min compensates somewhat

Surprisingly funny and good story. I haven’t watched the part 1 which came out in 2015 and there were very few references to that movie so no need to watch that one before watching this.

Haven't watched the previous movie, so missed out on a few references in the beginning. Story wasn't captivating and quite surface level, even by my mom's standard. We saw the plot twist coming from a mile away. It was good enough for us to finish the movie, but bad enough for us to want it to end as soon as possible. If you are out of good, high-quality movies to watch, I recommend this one to kill some time until you find something new
