Critics Consensus

It's as scattershot as its predecessor, but V/H/S/2 rounds up enough horror filmmaking talent to deliver a satisfyingly nasty -- albeit uneven -- dose of gore.

There are some dull stretches here, but also some grisly instant hits: nasty, deplorable, vulgar and sometimes brilliant.

Unlike its predecessor, V/H/S/2 only has one speed. This fast, loud, and abrasive film would have benefited from one or two slower, more tense segments to vary the tone. However, the thrills of A Ride in the Park and Safe Haven make this worth a watch.

Pulls off the seemingly impossible by being an anthology that succeeds with nearly every vignette. Between the merits of each individual segment and the variety of horrors chronicled, it's arguably the highpoint of the franchise.

Admirable but uneven, as is often the case with such anthologies.

V/H/S 2 is a huge step up from its predecessor. Each segment has something to enjoy. A main Highlight for me was the segment safe haven. Which I consider one of the best segments so far. Overall, this movie is bloody, creepy, and disturbing. A great horror watch

This is a step down from what made It’s predecessor entertaining. It is not terrible, but it’s far less interesting or scary than it easily could have been.
