Much better in theory than execution. Go to Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Mar 7, 2019
Despite noble intentions, writer-director James Bird's film contains a few too many less-than-engaging or compelling characters and situations to warrant the leap it takes to buy into this at times ridiculous and pretentious tale. Go to Full Review Bobby LePire Film Threat Jul 8, 2019

We Are Boats is an intriguing drama more for what it says and, in effect, gets its audience to ponder than for what it does. Go to Full Review EJ Moreno Flickering Myth Mar 2, 2019

Apr 8, 2021 A rather refreshing take on death and the after life. I found it to be rather unique in its structure. Francesca, a single mom who moonlights as a upper end hooker is suddenly killed by her john and it was not her time but the 'angels' did not get to her in time: she died even though it wasn't meant to be. She is fixed on seeing her daughter but there are other plans for her. She is set out to show the dying the way to heaven or to show them it isn't there time and save them. She is sort of a renegade as she has sex with her 'clients' and smokes pot. Nice appearance by Amanda Plummer and Graham Greene (Canadian of Oneida heritage - Dances with Wolves, Molly's Game and many others). Gaia Weiss and Angela are hot.!! It follows Francesca around as she weaves in and out of the lives of people sheï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2(TM)s trying to help. Filmed on an all vegan set.
