Wonder is a sentimental family film. While it's not devoid of clichés, these are offset by solid performances and a winsome, uplifting story told with tenderness. Go to Full Review
Ariel Henley The Atlantic 12/22/2017
Wonder is a well-crafted, well-intentioned movie. But it also downplays some important economic, emotional, medical, and psychological realities...it missed a chance to better represent the experiences of children who are already so widely misunderstood. Go to Full Review

It sometimes over-plays its hand but, anchored by a terrific Jacob Tremblay, Wonder is a warm persuasive argument for tolerance. Go to Full Review

Between that life lesson of choosing kindness and many invaluable others, the film's buoyant messages are the moving jolt of empathy this generation needs. Go to Full Review

While the film's success has shone an important light on disability, the casting controversies, inability to let Auggie be a real person and inspiration porn messaging verge on insufferable. Wonder desperately wants you to cry. I did not. Go to Full Review

For a picture that begs to be drowned in sentimental syrup, Wonder feels emotionally honest rather than willfully manipulative. Go to Full Review

Untitled Rants 2 @UntitledRantsOfficial 2h This film is just so good after the book. Jacob and the other cast members did absolutely fantastic! I would totally give this a 2nd watch! See more Jack G @Gump.jack Jan 20 The reason for the bullying he faces is different from that in A Silent Voice. It is a pure coming-of-age story with no romantic subplots at all. Raised with tender care by his family, never treated as a "special child" or labeled differently, he ultimately earned friendship and respect through his kindness and courage. Courage, kindness, friendship, character—thesedefine our humanity, transcending biases of appearance to remind us that what lies within is far more powerful than what meets the eye. This is the essence of empathy: be kind, for everyone is fighting an unseen battle in life See more Rebecca W. @Rebeccathecode Jan 11 A special movie with a powerful message. A cast full of well known stars including Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson, as well as up and coming ones like Noah Jupe(A Quiet Place) and Danielle Rose Russell(The Orignals). Great film! R & R See more Mitchell S @Mitchstur Jan 7 It's cute, it's heartwarming, and showcases how powerful unconditional love is. See more Bob P Jan 6 This was a real tearjerker. The actor Jacob Tremblay who plays Auggie was really great. The makeup artist deserved an Oscar. Julia Roberts was her typical great self. Owen Wilson whom I love was miscast as the father. His speciality is comedy. Great scrip and it dragged a little in parts but had a tremendous uplifting finish. Nice integration of various actors lives to complete the story.
