It left me at the edge of my seat and outside comfort zone. Not sure how I feel about knowing there are some embellishments of certain characters in a true crime movie but that’s the nature of Hollywood. Honestly? I think it’s intriguing to watch and tempted to watch it again but not alone. Sincerely not a fan of unsolved true crime mysteries but this one is so mesmerizing to fall down the rabbit hole and being overtly obsessed about the Zodiac killer. David Fincher provides stellar shots that mediate the angsty sentiment of heightened vigilance and incites a source of paranoia to the characters involved. Overall, the ensemble understands to portray those wavering feelings that the case entails, shifting between dogged defiance for catharsis and the unsteady but cold grip of the Zodiac killer haunting the obssesive investigators' failure to solve the puzzle. Although the movie pervades a chilling and oppressive mood, its pace makes it an overloaded and messy experience, where the constant jumps and back and forth between characters, as well as the mass of information, not only confuse but also frustrate the viewer with regard to the actual case.
